Business trips to Nairobi tend to be all diary and no downtime. A few hours at a spa can change how you feel on the flight home, but only if it is easy to arrange and fits around the meetings that brought you here. This guide explains how guests at Karen Plains Hotel add a visit to our partner spa, Manama Spa & Barbershop, and how to plan the timing so it helps rather than squeezes your schedule. It is especially relevant if you are in town for the Beauty Cosmetics & Wellness Expo in November.

First, the important bit: where the spa is
Manama is not inside the hotel. It is an offsite partner at Binaa Complex (2nd floor), opposite Hillcrest School on Lang'ata Road, a short drive from us in Karen. Staying guests get free pickup and drop-off between the hotel and the spa. Treatments are booked and paid separately with Manama, and their menu and prices come from them.

If you are attending a trade show, the day after it closes is usually the easiest. You are no longer checking emails from the stand, and there is time to enjoy it.
How to arrange it, step by step
- Book your room. Use our booking engine and choose your own dates, including any extra night you want for the spa.
- Tell us your window. Message us on WhatsApp with the day and rough time that suits you. We coordinate with Manama.
- Confirm the treatment with Manama. Their current menu, prices and availability are theirs to confirm, and you pay them directly.
- We arrange the ride. Pickup and drop-off are arranged for staying guests.
- Come back to a quiet room. Add dinner at the hotel if you would rather not go out again.

Make the room part of the wind-down
If the point of the trip's final day is to slow down, the room matters as much as the treatment.

- King Room with Balcony: a private balcony for fresh air after the treatment.

Bringing the team
A spa visit can be a thoughtful thank-you for a stand team after a demanding show. A few tips:
- Ask early. Group appointments depend on Manama's availability, so share numbers and a preferred time as soon as you know them.
- Decide who pays. Treatments are paid to Manama, so agree whether the company or each person settles the bill.
- Stagger the timing if needed, and keep dinner at the hotel simple afterwards.
- Keep the team's rooms on one booking contact so we can coordinate the day. We can provide invoices and receipts for the hotel stay on request.

- A walk around The Waterfront Karen, a few steps from the hotel.
- Dinner at Cave à Manger, the wine-paired restaurant in our arcade.
- A morning at the Giraffe Centre, or a guided Nairobi National Park half-day tour.
