Sample plan (an idea, not a hotel programme)
- 30 December: land at JKIA or Wilson, private transfer to Karen, early night.
- 31 December: an easy day and a walk to The Waterfront Karen, a few steps away. In the evening, follow your own plans in Karen or across the city, with transport quoted in advance if you need it.
- 1 January: a late breakfast (served until 10:30) if you booked another night, then a quiet afternoon.
- 2 to 4 January: a half-day Nairobi National Park tour, the Giraffe Centre, or a spa afternoon at Manama.
- Later in January: head out on a longer safari planned with Travel Corp, leaving spare bags in our luggage storage.
Getting around from Karen
Karen is in south-west Nairobi. Some venues may announce their own New Year plans; we don't list any here because nothing is confirmed for this year. Check with each venue directly, and book tables yourself. Cave à Manger, The Wine Box's wine-paired restaurant, is right here in Karen Plains Arcade. Journey times vary with Nairobi traffic; check a live traffic app for your schedule, and allow extra time on busy holiday evenings.

Does the hotel hold a New Year's Eve party?
No. Karen Plains Hotel does not host a New Year's Eve party. We're happy to help you think through plans elsewhere and arrange transport.
Can I check out late on 1 January?
Check-out is by 10:00. If you want a slower morning, add the night of 1 January when you book.
Can you drive us to our New Year plans?
Tell us where and when, and we'll quote transport before anything is confirmed.
Can you plan a safari for early January?
Yes, through our partner Travel Corp at The Hub Karen. They quote and run the itinerary; park fees are extra and sightings are never certain.
