Before you travel

Check Kenya's entry requirements with official sources, because they depend on your nationality and can change. For fixtures, venues and tickets, rely on the official tournament channels. Dates and venues are provisional until confirmed.

Arriving in Nairobi

Most international visitors arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). Wilson Airport handles many domestic and safari flights. We can add an airport transfer from either, and you can read more in our guide to getting from JKIA to Karen.

Getting around

Nairobi traffic can be heavy at peak times, so allow extra time for every trip, especially on event days. Taxis and ride apps are widely used. We have not confirmed any match-day transport, so check official guidance before you plan your day. Our guide to getting around Nairobi has more detail.

Weather in June and July

June and July are often cooler in Nairobi, with chilly mornings and evenings and the occasional drizzle. A light jacket is useful. See what to pack for Nairobi in June and July.

Money and payments

The local currency is the Kenyan shilling, and M-PESA mobile money is widely used. At Karen Plains Hotel you can pay by card or M-PESA.

Between matches

The Giraffe Centre, Nairobi National Park and the Karen Blixen Museum are close to the hotel. See things to do in Nairobi between matches.
